Yesterday's Atlas
ISTD SUBMISSION
This publication was a response to the International Society of Typographic Designers 2019 Brief.
I chose to explore the ‘Lost’ brief, and in response, Yesterday’s Atlas presents a deconstructed guidebook to lost countries through a curated collection of stories from the past.
The phenomenon of lost countries is developed through a narrative of lost national identity by citizens of these countries. The loss is further explored typographically through translucent maps and quote pages, sharing the traces of monuments and historic places that remain, when the country that created them disappears from our travel materials.
Yesterday's Atlas was printed on Reviver Recycled and bound in wrapped paper boards, section sewn to further create the departure from the regular glossy guidebook.
